Project Mandate

The Tourism Research Project is dedicated to learning more about the impacts of tourism and hospitality on our region, as well as finding new ways to deal with developing industry trends.

Current research focuses on the looming labour shortage, and how to overcome it using various recruiting and retention strategies. The purpose of the labour force study is to better understand the constraints upon industry member, and how they compare to organizations competing for qualified recruits outside of Nova Scotia. The study has been completed and findings will be released to the Hotel Association of Nova Scotia in mid-July.
